Good Day – From Field Operations

Zenergy’s operations team has begun to flex its muscles, getting tasks completed, and I could not be prouder of the results. The last several weeks have been a blur, and although our schedules have been hectic, we are beyond grateful for the continuous support we receive from our Shareholder family and our customers—who make it all worth it.

While Texas has been our initial area of operation, we are beginning to spread our wings and expand into additional states. Lane Davis, one of our Senior Field Analysts, will be traveling to Ohio, Kentucky, and Alabama to perform audits. Meanwhile, Greg Grissom and I just got back from San Antonio to finalize our second major installation for February.

Now that we are up to date lets dive into the meat of our installations. We have finalized our first of many installations, and in the process of wrapping up our second installation have received positive feedback from several customers that I am excited to share.  

One manager that we visited shared all the customer compliments the store has received since the installation was complete. He further mentioned that “they would have to do a much better job at keeping their floors clean”; given how much more effective the new lighting was.

I’ll start with the installation of our franchisee at a fast food restaurant chain. What an experience. Shift managers have shared with us that customers have noticed the new and improved lighting in the parking lot, while crew members working on the inside have said that there is a major difference in visibility. Also, all eight locations are now able to have their A/C remotely controlled by the owner. The owner is able to schedule the A/C to turn off and the heater to turn on when the temperature gets too cold. This feature can be planned seasonally.

We had one big take away from this project: ALWAYS take the weather into account during the installation process. During our scheduled install, we incurred adverse weather, causing a minor set- back. Besides that, there were no significant issues. The restaurant managers were excellent and a joy to work with at every location we visited. Not to mention—great food. We could not be prouder and happier with this installation. In addition, we believe that we also gained a great referral from this project. 

Our next installation project is a group of grocery stores located in San Antonio. One store brought me a great deal of nostalgia, taking me back to my youth where I would visit my grandmother’s house, located five minutes from the store’s location. During the short time my family lived in San Antonio, we would make frequent visits to her home. Upon my first visit to the stores, I noticed that the lighting inside gave an overall ambiance that was slightly gloomy. It is impressive what Zenergy’s lighting design and implementation can do to resolve this issue. One manager that we visited shared all the customer compliments the store has received since the installation was complete. He further mentioned that “they would have to do a much better job at keeping their floors clean”; given how much more effective the new lighting was.

Additionally, we installed a product that I have never noticed in grocery stores, called Cooler Covers. I was unaware of the impact of something so simple and easy until we got them installed and tested. The pictures below illustrate the before and after. In the image on the left, the cooler is uncovered, as usually seen in stores. On the right, the cooler is covered which helps to keep that area cool and not “air condition the whole neighborhood” as my dad used to say to me. One thing to remember and keep in mind is that the cooler covers save up to 20% in usage overnight. During the day, the compressors that cool the area are running the entire time. It is only at night when the covers are pulled down that they get a chance to shut off and not run.

We recently spoke to the owner of this chain of grocery stores, and he told us that customer compliments keep rolling in each time a store is complete. For him, this project has been a homerun, and it has had positive customer impact which could not make him any happier. We are hoping to go back in now, with an exclusive water reduction focused Zero Cost Agreement – analysis is underway.
In closing out this blog, I wanted to share from the heart and give everyone a transparent view into the installations and audits that are ongoing. While we are striving to be perfect, we try to eliminate one big item to focus on and in the end, learn from each install. The results and feedback have been phenomenal, and our customers thus far, seem to be happy and satisfied.
